Bioplastic vs Traditional plastic
Dec 07 , 2020
Traditional plastic is made from petroleum-based raw materials. Some say bioplastics—made from 20 percent or more of renewable materials—could be the solution to plastic pollution.
Bioplastics are plastics materials produced from renewable biomass sources, such as vegetable fats and oils, corn starch, straw, woodchips, sawdust, recycled food waste, etc. The term bioplastics encompass a whole family of materials that are biobased, biodegradable, or both.
